Jon D. Ross has been associated with Neal & Harwell since 1973 and is the third longest serving Member of the firm. His current clients include Hyundai Motor America, Rutherford County, Tennessee, and News Channel 5 Network, L.P., the CBS affiliate in Nashville. He has represented the manufacturers of Volkswagen, Nissan, General Motors, Mazda, Subaru and Kero-Sun products, as well as numerous other companies, in product liability litigation. He also represents plaintiffs in personal injury litigation.
Mr. Ross graduated from the University of Michigan in 1967 with a B.S.E. degree in Electrical Engineering. From 1968 to 1972, he was an electronics engineer in the U.S. Air Force, leaving active duty with the rank of Captain. He graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Law in 1974.
Notable / Representative Cases
- NASCO, Inc. in contract litigation against Calcasieu Television & Radio, Inc. and G. Russell Chambers. The case resulted in a judgment against Mr. Chambers for one the largest judgments for sanctions ever awarded. (Chambers v. NASCO, Inc. 501 US 32, 111 S.Ct. 2123, 115L.Ed.2d 27 1991)
