W. David Bridgers joined Neal & Harwell in 1997. He has focused his practice on a broad range of complex criminal and civil litigation, particularly cases focused on healthcare fraud and abuse, the environment and commercial transactions. He has represented the plaintiffs in numerous cases. He is a member of the bar of the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the U.S. District Courts for the Middle, Eastern, and Western Districts of Tennessee. Mr. Bridgers has tried civil and criminal jury cases to verdict in both federal and state courts. In addition, Mr. Bridgers has argued over 75 cases before federal and state appellate courts.
Prior to joining Neal & Harwell, Mr. Bridgers was an Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Justice Division of the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office from 1994-1996, and served as Team Leader of the Criminal Justice Division from 1995-1996. Following graduation from law school, he was a researcher for the National Commission on Superfund, a public policy dialogue facilitated by Vermont Law School and the Keystone Center of Keystone, Colorado.
Mr. Bridgers is a 1986 graduate of the University of the South with a B.A. in philosophy. Prior to attending law school, he graduated from the University of Alabama-Birmingham with a M.P.H. in epidemiology and biostatistics in 1988. He received his J.D. and M.S.L. in environmental law from Vermont Law School in 1993, where he was a member of the editorial board of the Vermont Law Review.

- Cambio v. Reardon, 213 S.W. 3d 785 (Tenn. 2006) (Limiting application of corporate parent privilege in tortuous interference with contract cases; co-counsel at trial and lead counsel
on appeal)
- Biscan v. Brown, 160 S.W. 3d 462 (Tenn. 2005) (Affirming nearly $4 million jury verdict and establishing that adults owe a duty of care to minors when they provide those minors a place in which to consume alcohol; co-counsel on appeal)
- City of Knoxville v. Entertainment Resources, LLC, 166 S.W.3d 650 (Tenn. 2005) (Successful First Amendment challenge to Knoxville ordinance; co-counsel at trial and on appeal)
- Successfully represented numerous individuals and corporations in criminal and civil investigations, particularly in the areas of health care fraud and abuse and in environmental matters.
